...

There's a grief that can't be spoken.
There's a pain goes on and on.
Empty chairs at empty tables
Now my friends are dead and gone.

Here they talked of revolution.
Here it was they lit the flame.
Here they sang about `tomorrow'
And tomorrow never came.

From the table in the corner
They could see a world reborn
And they rose with voices ringing
I can hear them now!
The very words that they had sung
Became their last communion
On the lonely barricade at dawn.

Oh my friends, my friends forgive me

That I live and you are gone.
There's a grief that can't be spoken.
There's a pain goes on and on.

Phantom faces at the window.
Phantom shadows on the floor.
Empty chairs at empty tables
Where my friends will meet no more.

Oh my friends, my friends, don't ask me
What your sacrifice was for
Empty chairs at empty tables
Where my friends will sing no more.

Nothing more...nothing less.

Have you seen "Les Miserable"? This is an interesting song, isn't it? When Marius discovers that he is the only rebel student to survive the attacks on their barricade, he feels so badly that he survived and his friends did not. Yet, his friends' sacrifice allowed him to live and have a future. Beautifully sung, too.

Akay - glad someone said what it was from. For a moment I thought you'd written that and I was about to be highly surprised. However, if it's Les Miserable, then that makes perfect sense.

Of course it is well sung. It IS Michael Ball after all.

I love Les Miserables. It is a beautiful musical and story. I watch it many time. I actually have it in CONCERT! It is amazing, you can't ask for a better cast.

Colm Wilknison as Valjean

Philip Quast as Javert

Allun Armstrong as Mr. Thenardier

And Michael Ball as Marius..and MUCH MORE!

One of my best friend's husband's was PSM for the original touring company. He is a Les Mis freak! He truly loves all musical theatre.

I don't know Michael Ball. I'm not a big fan of the contemporary Broadway musical. I love the classic story Les Mis is based on, and I would love experiencing it (I love almost ANY theatre experience), but I'm not a "fan," I don't keep up with who's who, etc.

Kiaya beat me to it!

I just want to wish you the best tonight. She said it right: Make it count. One day, you're going to want a have something to look back at, so make a memory worth keeping.

Resist all temptation to be cynical, and deny every urge to be disappointed. Take it for what it is and enjoy the moment for all it's worth. You have accomplished something important and valuable and worth celebrating. Look at the people you are celebrating with and make sure they know you're happy for them, too.

This is a once in a lifetime experience. Choose to be content with things no matter how they go.

God bless you!
Mrs. G

Brad! You have to update. Maybe before you go? Is that possible? Are you already gone?

Be safe... okay?
